What to do during and after a storm
3/24/2020 (Permalink)
Heavy rains, tornadoes, severe weather or just a water flood at home can be very stressful to measure, and even more stressful to overcome. But it’s a serious issue that needs an emergency plan of action at home or office.
Do you have a plan of action or do you know what to do during and after a storm?
Here the To-dos During a storm:
- Ask yourself, is it safe to stay in the house?
- Keep a number of a company ready for storm damage control
- Stay away from electrical and "slip and fall" hazards, those are some of the most prevalent concerns.
- Wet materials can be VERY heavy, do not carry them, and be aware of them.
- Only do activities that are safe for you to perform.
Here the To-dos After a storm:
- Don't leave wet fabrics in place. Hang furs and leather goods.
- Don't leave books, magazines or other colored items on wet carpet or floors.
- Don't use your household vacuum to remove water.
- Don't use television or other household appliances.
- Don't turn on ceiling fixtures if ceiling is wet, and keep out of rooms where ceilings are sagging.
